About the Condition
What is OCD ?
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a serious mental health condition. It happens when a person gets stuck in a cycle of unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive actions (compulsions). Obsessions are thoughts, images, or urges that keep coming back and cause a lot of stress. Compulsions are things you feel you have to do—again and again—to try to feel less anxious or to stop something bad from happening.

- Unwanted sexual or violent thoughts
- Strong focus on religious or moral rules
- Fear of losing something important
